Terms of Service
Last updated September 16, 2026
These terms govern your use of StageOne, a platform for organising shooting-sport matches, series, and results, operated by StageOne Systems, Kråkstad, Norway. By creating an account or using the service, you agree to these terms.
If you use StageOne on behalf of a club or federation, you confirm that you are authorised to bind that organisation to these terms.
The service
StageOne lets shooters register for matches, follow live standings and view results, and lets clubs, federations and independent match directors run matches and series, score events, manage members, hold a forum and governance records, and issue invoices. We may add, change, or remove features over time. Service status is published at status.stageone.systems.
Eligibility and your account
You must provide accurate information and keep it up to date. You are responsible for activity under your account and for keeping your credentials secure.
Two-factor authentication is required for match directors, board members, club administrators, federation administrators and platform administrators, and is switched on the first time you take on such a role.
If you are below the age at which you can agree to online services on your own under Norwegian law, a parent or guardian must accept these terms and manage your account. StageOne does not verify age and has no separate guardian account; the person lawfully entitled to consent for a junior competitor accepts these terms on their behalf.
Roles and responsibilities
Clubs and federations are responsible for the accuracy of the matches, series, members, classifications and results they manage, for the documents they upload and the audience they publish them to, and for the accuracy of their office register. Each organisation is an independent controller of the member data it administers through StageOne, as described in the privacy policy.
Match directors are responsible for the conduct and results of the events they run on the platform, including the sanctions their officials issue. A warning or disqualification zeroes the affected score, is shown publicly alongside the result, and can be lifted by the match director until results are published; StageOne records sanctions and does not review them.
Holding a recorded office (chair, treasurer, board member) is a record of fact and gives no access rights on the platform; access is granted only through roles.
Match-director status for an independent organiser is granted by StageOne on request and may be withdrawn. Where a federation includes an independent organiser’s public match in one of its series, the federation takes responsibility for that series.
Acceptable use
You agree to use StageOne lawfully and responsibly. We may suspend or remove content or accounts that breach these terms. In particular, you must not:
- use the service in any unlawful way;
- upload unlawful, infringing, or harmful content;
- attempt to access data you are not authorised to see;
- disrupt or overload the service, or circumvent its rate limits;
- scrape or harvest data beyond ordinary use;
- use other members’ contact details from a member directory for anything other than legitimate club, federation or competition communication - for example, no marketing, spam, or bulk messaging;
- harass other members, or post other people’s personal data, in forum posts or member mentions; or
- use a card chargeback in place of the cancellation policy that applies to your registration.
Fees and payments
Match entry fees and membership fees are set by the organising club, federation or match director, which is the seller and merchant of record for them. StageOne provides the platform and, where applicable, charges that organisation a fee.
Entry fees are always collected online through Stripe, by card or Vipps, and are at least NOK 50; there is no payment at the venue. Membership invoices are paid by bank transfer unless the organisation has enabled card payment. Funds are paid to the organising or issuing organisation’s connected account, and payment-processing fees on match payments are charged to that organisation unless StageOne has agreed to absorb them; you pay only the amount shown.
StageOne may take a percentage of match payments, shown to the organisation in its payment settings before it enables payment collection, and it may be nil. Federations and independent clubs also pay an annual platform fee, set by StageOne per organisation and year, invoiced by bank transfer and communicated on the invoice; member invoices carry no platform fee.
Invoices issued through StageOne are payable within 14 days of issue. StageOne charges no interest or late fee. You are responsible for any taxes that apply to you, and organisations are responsible for the correctness of the fees they set.
Registration and payment windows
When you register for a paid match you receive a payment window of up to 24 hours. If you have not paid by then your place is released and offered to the waiting list.
Where "register now, pay later" is offered, your registration does not hold a place: places continue to go to shooters who pay, you pay the price valid when you pay, and if the match fills first you may end up on the waiting list. Unpaid registrations are cancelled once the match stops accepting payment.
A match organiser may waive or reduce the entry fee of officials working the match; such a place does not count towards the match’s capacity.
Refunds and cancellations
Refunds for a registration you cancel follow the cancellation policy the organiser set for that match, counted from the match start: Flexible refunds 100 % if you cancel at least 24 hours before, nothing thereafter; Moderate refunds 90 % up to 7 days before and 80 % from 7 to 3 days before, nothing inside 3 days; Strict refunds nothing at any time. The percentage is calculated from the amount you actually paid and is fixed at the moment you cancel. The policy is shown on the match page.
An organiser may also set a cancellation deadline; after it passes you can no longer cancel your own registration and must contact the match director. A checked-in shooter is withdrawn by the match director.
Where the organiser cancels a match, the cancellation policy does not apply: the organiser refunds the full amount paid to every paid registration, as a separate step that the organiser initiates. StageOne does not refund on the organiser’s behalf, and a shooter who withdrew before the cancellation keeps what their policy gave them.
Refunds are returned to the payment method used and normally arrive within minutes. Where an automatic refund is not possible, for example when the organiser’s payment account is no longer connected, the organiser refunds manually. Bank-transfer invoices are refunded by the issuing organisation directly.
StageOne’s percentage of a match payment is not returned when a registration is refunded, whoever cancels; the sole exception is an entry comped to a match official.
Match entry fees pay for a leisure service supplied on a specified date, so the statutory right of withdrawal under the Norwegian Cancellation Act does not apply to them; the organiser’s cancellation policy governs. Nothing in these terms limits any statutory right you have as a consumer.
Chargebacks and disputes
If you dispute a match payment with your card issuer, your registration is flagged to the organiser but is not automatically cancelled; the organiser decides whether you keep your place, and your card issuer decides the dispute. The disputed amount and the card network’s dispute fee are charged to the organising organisation’s payment account, and StageOne’s percentage of the original payment is not returned. Cancel through StageOne first so that the cancellation policy applies.
Membership invoices and reminders
An unpaid membership invoice is chased automatically with reminders at 3, 7, 14 and 21 days past the due date; after 30 days it is handed to the issuing organisation for manual collection. StageOne does not suspend your membership or remove your roles for non-payment; any such consequence is a matter between you and your organisation.
If you save a card and consent to future charges for an organisation, that organisation may charge its overdue invoices to that card without you present, up to three attempts per invoice. You can withdraw the consent at any time from your profile, and you are asked to consent again if the organisation changes its payment account.
Where a federation invoices on behalf of its clubs, the federation is the issuer and creditor of that invoice and receives the payment; it settles the club portions with its clubs outside StageOne. Credit notes and refunds are then issued by the federation.
API access
StageOne may issue API keys for read-only access to published match data. A key is a bearer credential issued to a named integration: keep it secret, do not share or resell it, use it only for the integration it was issued for, and tell us at once if it leaks. We may revoke a key at any time.
API use is subject to published rate limits (currently 60 requests per minute per key) and to the acceptable-use rules above. The API contract is versioned: within a version we may add fields, and a breaking change ships under a new version. We give no availability guarantee for the API and may retire a version with notice.
Content and data
You and your organisation retain responsibility for the content you submit. You grant StageOne the rights needed to host, process, and display that content in order to operate the service, including generating shareable results cards for public matches and completed series.
Competition results are records of events and may be retained and published as part of the service, including after you delete your account, without a link to your identity.
Availability
We aim to keep StageOne available and reliable, but we provide the service "as is" and do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation. We give no uptime commitment or service-level agreement, and we may deploy changes or perform maintenance at any time, including during matches. Current status is published at status.stageone.systems.
Disclaimers
To the extent permitted by law, StageOne is provided without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose. Equipment and load data you record in the inventory feature are your own entries; StageOne does not validate, recommend or endorse any of them.
Limitation of liability
To the extent permitted by Norwegian law, StageOne is not liable for indirect or consequential losses, lost profits, or loss of data arising from your use of the service. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
Suspension and termination
You may stop using the service at any time, and you may delete your account except while you are the sole administrator of an organisation or the match director of a match in progress. Deleting your account removes your identifying details; your competition results and any accounting records are retained as described in the privacy policy.
We may suspend or terminate access for breach of these terms or where required by law. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination (such as accounting retention and liability) will continue to apply.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. When we make material changes we will update the "Last updated" date and, where appropriate, notify you. Continued use after changes take effect means you accept the updated terms.
Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by Norwegian law. Disputes that cannot be resolved amicably shall be brought before the Follo District Court (Follo og Nordre Østfold tingrett) as legal venue, unless mandatory consumer rules give you the right to sue or be sued in the courts of your own place of residence. A consumer may also bring a complaint to the Norwegian Consumer Authority (Forbrukertilsynet).
